 We are very happy that we chose New Leaf Homes to build our dream home in Reynolds Lake Oconee. The whole experience of working with them was easy and stress-free. Having never built a house before, we relied on the New Leaf team to help us understand the process along the way, which they did very well. Although there were questions about how large the house should be, their designer gave us the house we needed and wanted. While living nine states away New Leaf was also very attentive to our need for updates and progress reports. We were living in North Carolina while our home was being built, however, we never felt the distance to be an issue since everyone kept us informed daily of the progress. Tracey, the interior designer, was very helpful in guiding us through all of our choices and helped us find the right resources. There were never any surprises, or any additional costs that weren’t fully discussed/explained in advance. The final cost of our homes was within a few dollars of what was quoted at the start of the project.  We had a very positive experience with New Leaf Homes through the design, build and warranty phases of our new home at Reynolds Lake Oconee. The entire team demonstrated a commitment to understanding our needs, educated us on the specifics of building within a planned community, partnered seamlessly with the Reynolds Architectural Review Board, and provided us with options to consider throughout the design/build process without us feeling like we were being pressured or ‘sold to.’ The New Leaf Homes team understood our desire to blend together some of the best elements from multiple floor plans, and their architects and design group really helped us pull off a design that works. Having previously designed and built a custom home in Atlanta we were somewhat apprehensive about a build process that we couldn’t monitor each day – the New Leaf Homes team worked hard to update us on progress each step of the way, provided photos of key build events, and communicated critical milestone dates in advance allowing us to be on-site for key reviews.  Working with the New Leaf Homes team was a real pleasure. My husband and I moved into our lovely new home in November of 2015. After interviewing two builders, we chose New Leaf for three reasons. First, we were impressed with the honesty and integrity of Manager, Peter Field, and Area Manager, Bob Hatfield. Secondly, after several meetings with Peter, Bob and the team, my husband and I knew they listened and understood our vision for our retirement home. Lastly, New Leaf Homes had built two model homes on Holts Ferry Road in Reynolds Lake Oconee, so we were familiar with the quality of their work. Overall, the building process moved along quite smoothly. Since we began building our home when we still lived out of town, we would regularly receive pictures with comments/questions regarding each stage of building. Tracey Conway, the Selection Coordinator, was great to work with. She and I collaborated well together when choosing materials and designs to fit my price point and style. We worked in the design studio, and she helped me quickly and efficiently make design choices. Of course it helps if you've done your homework, and you can articulate your ideas to Tracey. We've now lived in our home nineteen months, and we absolutely love the finished product! Our craftsmen style home is wonderfully built and we receive compliments on it all the time.  We came to Reynolds for a visit and came away with a lot. Our next challenge was to find the right builder. We visited with New Leaf who instantly gave us a sense of family. As we started the process, the team worked with us on the plans until we were satisfied with the final product. All along the way, making great suggestions we never thought of but never tried to push us into any decisions…they were all our own. The New Leaf team made the building process simple.  We had heard the nightmare stories about building a custom home and were prepared for the worst. Of course, there were challenges but what impressed us most was that New Leaf was always and genuinely interested in building exactly what we wanted. We took a stock elevation and floor plan and made several changes. The New Leaf team were nothing but supportive and enthusiastic in accommodating our needs. And most impressive was the communication and response times from beginning to end. We could not be more pleased.

 Having a home built from plans sight unseen would appear to be difficult. However, I must admit New Leaf Custom Homes made it very easy. The fact that I lived 750 miles away during construction did not present any problem because New Leaf Custom Home’ management provided weekly e-mails with photos and scheduled teleconferences to discuss any decisions that I had to make. He indeed made the project very easy for me. Having only visited the site on two occasions during construction including the closing is remarkable to me. I think the house came out better than I imagined. If I ever build again or any of my friends, I would strongly recommend New Leaf Custom Home.  

 From the design phase to selecting our various options in the Design Studio to construction, our experience was excellent. This is the third home we have built from the ground up and this was by far the best team we have ever worked with. 

 We thought to build a second home 100 miles away was going to be an extremely arduous process, but the New Leaf Custom Homes team created a seamless plan. We worked directly with the architectural team to create a unique house with tremendous character. After we had finalized our plans, it was an easy transition to the design center on all interior selections.  Our home here in Reynolds Plantation was the first home we have ever built; so, it was important for us to find a builder that offered a full menu of services to assist us through the process from start to finish. New Leaf homes worked patiently with us for over two years as we changed this and that with our home plan to make it just what we wanted. They had great base plans from which to start, and existing homes to show us for a more concrete picture of how the plan came to life. This was so very helpful! New Leaf’s architect was most receptive to all of our ideas. All we had to do is ask, and he made it happen. The design center is also extremely helpful!! All of the vendors we worked with were so professional and knowledgeable. They consulted us at every step to make sure things were exactly as we wanted. When we actually started the building process, it moved along just as promised, and whenever we wanted to change something, our construction manager did it without even a blink. The whole team always had a smile, and so much respect for us. The way New Leaf works their pricing was also important to us. We got the price, item by item, and then when we wanted to change something, we were told exactly how it would impact our cost before moving forward. NO SURPRISES!!  It is not often that I have the opportunity to write someone and praise them for their work; however, the whole New Leaf Custom Homes family deserves a great amount of praise. First I would like to address the issues of us getting all ideas and materials together. From the moment we picked our lot, New Leaf spent time with my wife as well as me to discuss the process and how it would work. This was wonderful because it gave us a mental timeframe as well as a visual of what to expect in the future. There was not one time when New Leaf made us feel uncomfortable with the changes that we wanted to make to the house as it was being built. Also, the architect at New Leaf has made us feel the same. You gave us a true and genuine feeling that the customer does come first. Due to these attitudes, my wife and I were able to make quite a few changes as things progressed to give us truly our dream home. As I look back on it all, from your wonderful showroom to the lighting showroom as well as the flooring and countertops it ended up being the most fun my wife and I have ever had going through a process that we were told could be very stressful. Here again, it all comes down to those people you have chosen to represent your company. Not only were these business relationships but true friendships came out of this as well. New Leaf has the talent for picking two types of people. Those that build homes and those that build relationships. I cannot tell you what it meant to my wife and I to receive honest and true genuine feedback concerning where our money should or should not go. There were times when New Leaf advised us against certain ideas and explained why it would not be beneficial to us. There were also times when you would sit and discuss with us where maybe we should allocate funding. In each of these cases, the final outcome was something that would continue to save us money year after year in the future. I do believe that as a builder I thought New Leaf would be taking my money, not saving me my money. I know that New Leaf’s future looks bright as a builder. I also feel that when a team’s passion is integrated with honesty and integrity that success is the final outcome. The worksite was always clean and organized. Throughout the whole building process, I felt that our home was to be a showroom for others to look at with no trash in the way. Cleanliness goes a long way in assuring your customers that things are going the right way and that there is constant attention to detail. New Leaf Custom Homes has the ability to build for anyone, any type of home that they would like, and do it with a smile. They never see a problem only opportunities and that is what separates New Leaf from other builders I have met. I have never had anyone coming to my home without wanting to know who was the builder.  My wife and I had a very positive experience with New Leaf Custom Homes during the design, construction, and warranty phases of our custom home built in the gated community of Achasta in the North Georgia Mountains. We relied on the expertise of the New Leaf engineering team to meticulously review the design plans and bring the design features up to current code and compliance with the community requirements. We entrusted New Leaf Custom Homes to construct our home on an extreme slope, a dramatic drop of 100 feet, and we were not disappointed. We chose to begin the planning phase a full two years before our expected occupancy, and we were rewarded with excellent design details and an accurate construction cost estimate. We appreciated the use of the design studios at Lake Oconee and Sandy Springs to give us ideas, to visualize the end product, and to select the finishing materials. It was encouraging for my wife and me to sit across the table from our builder, an engineer, an artistic interior designer, a cabinet specialist, and a New Leaf Home executive who helped us piece together our vision for our new home. The computer-generated diagrams of the pantry, kitchen and bathroom cabinetry and closets were most helpful. The design team also recommended a suitable landscape architectural team that had the experience of creating boulder walls and constructing a water feature, design features that we envisioned necessary to bring harmony between the house design and its existing environment. Throughout the building process, communication with the entire New Leaf team was easy. Although we were 180 miles away during the construction phase, pictures and timely messages were sent via the internet or by phone to answer questions when needed. Creative solutions were often necessary to overcome several unforeseen problems. My wife and I applaud the workmanship and the warranty commitment of the New Leaf Custom Homes team, and we would think of them first if we were to ever build again. 

 We traveled to Atlanta with an urgent need to find a house that would meet our needs. What a pleasant surprise it was to have found the perfect home for us!
